74 John C. Cruden, District of Columbia Life Fellow and principal at Beveridge & Diamond, has been elected president of the Foundation of the American College of Environmental Lawyers. He is a past president of the American College of Environmental Lawyers, as well as past assistant attorney general for the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He also recently received the 2019 Distinguished Member Award from the West Point Society of the District of Columbia.

Convocation 2019: Santa Clara Law Launches New Academic Year

On August 15, the Santa Clara Law community gathered to launch and bless the new school year at its annual convocation, which included an address by alumnus and Facebook lawyer, Akshay Verma JD ‘08. “What really sets Santa Clara apart is its dedication to professional development and experiential learning,” he told the gathering. “This school has such an incredible reputation for producing lawyers who can add value to their employers on Day One.”
