72 James “Mark” Atlas passed away on February 19, 2019. Atlas was a lover of music, brownies, and fresh powder on the slopes. He was an alumnus of Archbishop Mitty High School’s first graduating class of 1968. He then graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.A. in 1972 and a J.D. in 1975. Atlas began his practice of water law after joining the Sacramento firm McDonough, Holland and Allen as Of Counsel and later Downey Brand, finding a calling in the mentorship of young attorneys. Atlas is survived by his wife, Clifta, daughters and sons-in-law Lauren and Omar Peña of Chico and Lindsay and Alex Grzebski of Roseville, grandchildren Elizabeth, Joaquin and Raquel Peña and brother Edward (Leta) Atlas.
78 Colleen Engelmann passed away on January 19, 2019. Lawyer, philanthropist and entrepreneur, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, Engelmann died following a lengthy illness. She was a Classics scholar at the University of Minnesota, where she earned a degree in Greek and Latin. After receiving her law degree from the Santa Clara Law, she served as a corporate attorney for several major technology companies in Northern California. She later established her own legal services practice, Virtual Lawyer, at a time online commerce was beginning to emerge. Engelmann loved her ranch in Northern California, her many dogs, and enthusiastically supported a variety of conservation and preservation organizations. She leaves to cherish her memory three siblings, Michael Engelmann, Julie Wacker and Mary Murphy, and many nieces and nephews.

95 Shawn Wright has been appointed Co-Chair of Blank Rome’s Washington, D.C. Office. As office chair, Wright will provide leadership and strategic direction for the office’s legal practices and business objectives.
