2013 George Atkins September 29, 2019. Atkins was born on January 17, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio and passed away in San Jose, California. Atkins had been out of school for many years and brought real energy and commitment to his studies at Santa Clara Law. Although he worked in the patent and trademark office in San Jose, he was also very involved in social justice work while at Santa Clara Law. As a law student, Atkins participated in the expungement clinic, and last semester he returned to help Professor Kreitzberg with a one-day expungement clinic supervising students. In dedication to his commitment to both social justice and Santa Clara Law, friends and classmates have started a fund to provide a stipend to Santa Clara Law students for their summer employment. The program will be funded by donations from the public, and donations are tax-deductible. Visit our website to donate to the fund. Please select designation: “George Atkins Summer Grant Program.”
