Judge Pegg Receives Silicon Valley Pro Bono Honor

The Hon. Lori E. Pegg JD ‘86 received the Pro Bono Project’s Silicon Valley Innovator Award at their annual awards dinner. The Pro Bono Project is dedicated to representing clients of limited means and improving access to justice in Santa Clara County.

Pegg is a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2013. She earned a bachelor’s degree from UCLA. She began her legal career as an associate at Wise & Shephard, where she focused on labor and employment law. Three years later, she moved to Kauff, McClain & McGuire, where she continued handling labor and employment cases. Then in 1992, she joined Burke, Williams & Sorensen. She entered as an associate and rose to partner before serving as of counsel to Hoge, Fenton, Jones & Appel. Before her appointment to the bench, she served as deputy county counsel, lead deputy county counsel, and acting county counsel for the Office of the County Counsel of Santa Clara County from 2001 to 2013.
